Scott Becker
Scott Becker is the founder, publisher and chief content officer of Beckers Healthcare, a leading healthcare media company. Scott is also a long time partner at McGuireWoods a top AmLaw firm with leading private equity and healthcare practices. He served for nearly 14 years as the chair of the healthcare department and also served on the Board of Directors. Mr Becker has interviewed Bill and Hilary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, Nikki Haley, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Venus Williams and several other public figures.
Scott is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Illinois. At Harvard Law School he had the privilege to teach and advise future President Barack Obama as a moot court adviser. The President was much more gifted than Mr Becker. He hosts the highly ranked Beckers Healthcare Podcast and the highly ranked Becker Private Equity Podcast. He is also the author of several books, a regular speaker on business and healthcare trends, a proponent of physical and mental health as a foundation to lfe and an active investor in private equity and venture capital funds and companies. Mr Becker is a regular but not particularly accomplished golfer, tennis player and sports participant.
Bryan Clifton, MD
Dr. Bryan Clifton of San Antonio, Texas is a highly experienced anesthesiologist and health care leader with over two decades of expertise in both clinical practice and healthcare management. After earning his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2001 and completing his anesthesiology residency at the same institution in 2005, Dr. Clifton established a distinguished career as an anesthesiologist marked by leadership roles in various high-stakes medical environments, including cardiac, neuro, and high-risk obstetrics. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found multiple healthcare ventures, where he served as Chief Medical Officer, driving innovation and improving patient outcomes. Dr. Clifton was Co-Founder and CMO of Kalypso Wellness Centers which operated from 2016-2020 and was subsequently sold to a UK psychedelic company. Dr. Clifton has authored 3 method patents to include IV administration of ketamine, psilocin and tryptamine alkaloids. Currently, as the Co-Owner and Medical Director of The PREOP Center, Dr. Clifton continues to lead with a dedication to advancing medical practices and enhancing patient care, underscoring his extensive background in both clinical and leadership roles. In his free time, Dr. Clifton enjoys spending time with his wife and six kids.
Wendy Dean, MD
Wendy Dean, MD is the CEO and co-founder of The Moral Injury of Healthcare, a nonprofit focused on alleviating occupational distress through research, education, consultation, and training.
She is the author of, If I Betray These Words: Moral Injury In Medicine and Why It’s So Hard For Clinicians to Put Patients First, and cohost of the Moral Matters, Workplace Change Collaborative, and 43cc podcasts.
Before co-founding the nonprofit, Dr. Dean practiced as a psychiatrist, worked for the Department of Defense in research innovation, and as an executive for a half-billion dollar international non-profit supporting military medical research.
Since leaving clinical practice, Dr. Dean’s focus has been on finding innovative ways to make medicine better for patients and clinicians – technologically, ethically, and systemically.
Doug Duskin
Doug Duskin, Chief Executive Officer of Avel eCare brings over twenty-five years of international and domestic experience leading organizations through the successful development and implementation of commercial growth and performance strategies to drive shareholder value and customer satisfaction, while employing strong cross-functional teams focused on team member and client engagement to drive sustainability.
Prior to Avel eCare, Duskin served as President of Equality Health’s Technology Division, where he focused on enabling payer and provider collaboration to improve care for members in conjunction with value-based care contracts. During his leadership tenure, the Technology Division transformed its operations to align with a product strategy aimed at driving growth and improving customer satisfaction and profitability. Equality Health partnered with General Atlantic in February 2021 to recapitalize the business. Duskin also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Change Healthcare’s Clinical Review division, focused on services capturing Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC’s) and reflecting accurate risk adjustment scores, and HEDIS measure validation to drive STARS ratings for payers primarily in the government program space.
Doug’s experience prior to Change Healthcare was focused in the areas of finance and general management with Brambles, plc, a publicly traded Australian company and Private Equity and Public Accounting firms. Duskin earned an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia.
Derrick Idbeis
In his role as EVP Business Development / Revenue Cycle Services for MedHQ, Derrick brings extensive executive leadership and revenue cycle experience. Prior to joining MedHQ, Derrick founded and served as CEO at Trajectory RCS. His experience also includes direct patient interactions in a treatment setting, a seat on the Board of Managers for an acute care hospital, Revenue Cycle Manager for a hospital system, and Cardiology Practice Manager. Derrick holds a bachelor’s in economics from Colorado State University and an MBA in Finance from Newman University.
Michael Lipomi
Michael Lipomi, Senior Client Advisor at MedHQ, brings extensive expertise in hospital and surgery center development and operations to his role. He provides strategic and operational consulting to clients, working closely with physicians, healthcare managers, and administrators to optimize performance, quality, and profitability.
With a proven track record of leadership and advocacy in the healthcare industry, Mike founded the California Ambulatory Surgery Association (CASA) and Physician Hospitals of America (PHA). Teri Gatchel-Schmidt – Vice President, Consulting & Business Development
Teri Gatchel-Schmidt, MBA, CPC, brings over 30 years of experience in the health care industry as a practice administrator, operational leader and revenue cycle optimization consultant to large health systems and physician organizations. She has worked during the past 18 years consulting extensively with health care systems to enhance their financial performance in academic and acute/ambulatory based settings.
As Vice President of Consulting/Business Development, she is responsible for helping organizations reach their strategic, operational performance, and financial goals through technology led revenue cycle transformation. Her extensive hands-on knowledge of end to end revenue cycle processes gives her the ability to identify workflow redesign and overall performance improvement opportunities with an eye towards financial improvement and increased efficiency. Her past experiences include National speaker with KZA for AAOHNS, ACS, AAOS and ASPS on coding, compliance and revenue cycle reimbursement issues. She has also held executive leadership roles at Change Healthcare, Optum, and MedSynergies.
Randi Shults, RN, BSN, MHSA, CNOR(e)
Randi earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
Randi has 11 years of Operating Room experience and 25 years’ experience in the management of surgical care delivery and overall hospital administration. She has worked in both the non-profit and for-profit arenas, as well as acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
She has held the position of Chief Executive Officer with North Carolina Specialty Hospital since 2004, overseeing the overall performance of care delivery, quality, satisfaction, and fiscal well-being of the hospital. Under her leadership, NCSH has been rated one of the best hospitals in the country for patient satisfaction and quality.
Carrie Spencer
Carrie Spencer is a seasoned healthcare executive with a comprehensive background in delivering high-quality care and leading multidisciplinary medical teams. With extensive experience in establishing and managing outpatient physician practices across multiple cities and states, she excels in fostering effective leadership and maintaining strong relationships with staff and physicians.
Currently, Carrie serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Adam Bruggeman MD PLLC, where she oversees operations across eight entities, coordinates facility and program planning, manages budgets, and represents the organization at professional and civic events. She plays a crucial role in performance improvement initiatives, new service planning, and contract negotiations with insurance groups.
Prior to her current role, Carrie was the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and Business Development at the same organization, where she significantly improved revenue cycle management and successfully launched several new clinics. Her earlier roles include Director of Surgical Services at a physician owned hospital and ASC in San Antonio, Texas and registered nurse in various capacities, demonstrating her deep understanding of both clinical and operational healthcare aspects.

Matthew Ramsey, MD
Matthew L. Ramsey, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon subspecializing in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and cohost of the 43cc podcast.
Dr. Ramsey began his career at the University of Pennsylvania and moved to Rothman in 2007. He has held multiple leadership positions during his career as a board member, chief of service, Vice Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and in subspecialty organizations and journals. He is committed to two ideals in reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow: physician excellence and a holistic approach to patient care.
