Introducing the New PHA

February 1, 2022 |
Dear PHA Members and Supporters: I am pleased to write to you as the new president of Physician Hospitals of America (PHA). The board of directors believes that now is the time to “refresh” our organization; therefore, we will take on an entirely new look and strategy in 2022. Our main intent in this “reset” is to focus on vastly improving the communication between PHA and its members. Our goal is to return to being an organization where we all interact with each other on a regular basis and add measurable value to each member and collectively for our physician-led industry. We will change our name, our message, our image and expand the breadth of our membership, in order to stay ahead and at the lead of the changes of our constantly evolving system of healthcare in the U.S. In order to fully encompass our new strategy, the Board of Directors voted to rename our organization to Physician-Led Healthcare for America, still the ”PHA.” We are proud to be physician led and patient preferred. As Alexander Hamilton once said, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” We are proud to stand for high quality physician-led healthcare FOR America. We will have more information forthcoming, but in the meantime, please check our new website: www.physicianled.us. PHA’s 2022 Executive Summit: May 9-11 in Napa, California Make plans to join PHA’s 2022 Executive Summit this May 9-11 at the Napa Valley Marriott in Napa, California. We have an exciting set of panel discussions that will be held under our theme of: “Disrupting, Innovating and Planning for the Future.” Each day will be dedicated to a segment of the theme that will examine the various issues that affect the future of your hospital, including private equity, outpatient migration, medical real estate, a look at the nation’s different physician-owned hospital models, supply chain issues and much more. Monday, May 9: The sessions will begin in the afternoon of Monday, May 9. The day will conclude with a reception featuring several wineries at the hotel. Monday’s Theme: Disrupting Tuesday, May 10: The sessions will begin in the morning and wrap up in the afternoon so that attendees can visit a winery together in the late afternoon. Tuesday’s Theme: Innovating Wednesday, May 11: The Executive Summit will conclude in the morning. Wednesday’s Theme: Planning for the Future Who Should Attend? All leaders of physician-owned hospitals, including physician owners and c-level staff members, will find the agenda to be timely and useful. The majority of the presentations will consist of panel discussions, which will provide attendees with a variety of views for each topic. In addition, networking events have been created for Monday and Tuesday in an enjoyable setting so that attendees can meet their colleagues from around the nation. PHA secured a special rate of $269/evening for stays between Sunday and Thursday at the Napa Marriott, and rooms are limited. (The Rate is $399 for a Saturday evening stay.) PHA in 2022 I really want to get to know you and learn about your hospital. If you would like to set up a meeting with me, I’d love to introduce the new PHA personally to you and hear your feedback. I can be reached by e-mail at fredliss@comcast.net or on my mobile phone at 610.212.1841. If you reach out to me, I will return your call. The best way to get me is a quick advance text to let me know you are going to call. We feel that now more than ever, the winds of change have introduced favorable conditions forecasting a return to growth of our innovative hospital industry. There are so many critical issues in addition to expansion and growth. As Covid still runs rampant, a staffing crisis is afflicting most hospital systems nationwide. Please call me: let’s discuss your needs and your vision. Thank you so much. I hope to see you in Napa! Sincerely, |
