WASHINGTON – Physician-led and -owned hospitals continue to excel, capturing the hearts and trust of patients nationwide. According to the latest data from Becker’s, these hospitals have once again outperformed in terms of patient recommendations. This feedback reaffirms physician-owned hospitals’ commitment to exceptional care and service.
In a comprehensive study utilizing Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), over 80 physician-owned hospitals achieved a prestigious five-star rating.
“It is not surprising, yet remarkable, that while our community comprises only about 5% of the nation’s hospitals, our institutions achieve nearly 20% of the top ratings overall highlighting our exceptional quality and patient satisfaction,” said Joseph Alhadeff, MD, president of Physician-Led Healthcare for America (PHA). “This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to providing top-tier medical care and an unparalleled experience for each of our patients.”
The star ratings are derived from patients’ responses to a pivotal question within the HCAHPS survey: “Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?” The ratings reflect survey data collected from hospital patients between October 2022 and September 2023.
